Founder and Director

Prof Nick Schofield is the Founder and Director of Global Future Research. Nick has a broad range of national and international experience across numerous sectors including academia, federal and state governments, industry, consulting and non-profit. He has worked in the fields of astrophysics, water resources, environment, land use and climate change, futures, and international development.

Nick has held numerous leadership positions including CEO of several organisations. He has worked across Asia, the Pacific, Africa, Europe and North America and led many R&D programs in Australia. His formal training includes a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Imperial College, London University, a D.Phil in Astrophysics from York University and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Hydrology from Leeds University.

Currently Nick is Visiting Professorial Fellow at the University of NSW (Sydney), an Adjunct Professor at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia, and a Fellow of the Royal Society (NSW).
